[<>] ====== Obsidian Tower ====== **Designer:** [[designers:Jennifer Heaton]] **Designed:** 2010? ===Designer's Notes=== I designed this building after looking at the downtown Minneapolis skyscrapers that look like they're coated in walls of glass. It's almost impossible to replicate this in LEGO, since there are no parts that look like the reflective window glass that covers these buildings. But I got something of the same effect by stacking black bricks and then squeezing the whole thing so they ends aren't quite perpendicular to each other. This made it impossible to attach to a baseplate in the usual way, since the building in cross section is actually a rhombus rather than a square. So I had to use [[http://www.thedailybrick.co.uk/lego-parts/plate/modified/lego-plate-modified-2-x-2-with-groove-and-1-stud-in-center-jumper.html|jumper plates]] to attach the building to the base. This was probably the quickest build I've ever done. I think I finished it in an hour and the jumper attachments took half of that. {{gallery>http://bit.ly/17DvtsD}} [<>] {{tag>modules:module conforming contemporary quarter_block tower}}
