{{tag>:modules:module conforming contemporary quarter_block tower}} [<>] ====== Karla Building ====== **Designer:** [[designers:Jennifer Heaton]] **Designed:** June 2013 ===Designer's Notes=== I built this building at the request of my ten year old daughter Karla, who wanted a building with Friends beetles on it. The first version of this build looked very different. It was yellow and triangular and had more beetles in a regular pattern. Nathan thought it was hideous, and he was pretty much right. It's also almost impossible to make a good triangular roof in LEGO, so I pulled the whole thing apart and started over. I like this new version better, though it's far from perfect. I decided to make the whole building more nature themed--it has beetles crawling up the sides after all--so I used green and sand for the main colors, made the windows irregularly placed, and put a green roof on the top. I think of it as a building full of artists' studios. If you think about the scale, the plants on the roof are about 15 feet tall. Maybe they're bamboo.
