====== Science Museum of Minnesota 2015 ====== The Science Museum of Minnesota instituted a LEGO themed building contest in 2015 and invited TwinLUG to do a display at the museum on the day they released the contest results. So on April 4, 2015 we setup Micropolis in the lobby behind the T-Rex skeleton and the rest of the group put up other displays elsewhere in the ticketed portion of the museum. In a lot of ways it was one of the best and also one of the more problematic shows that we had ever done. The size of the layout was the largest Micropolis display at the time (coming in at 16.5 by 7.5 blocks for a total of 124 square blocks) and we had a huge crowd come through and see the display. However with a compressed setup time that was in an area open to the public it made for a somewhat fraught attempt at putting it all together. Part of what I like at displays is answering questions for the public, but stopping every couple of minutes to tell someone what it is we're putting together doesn't help me get it done. But it all worked out in the end and included several stunning new modules from Tom Anderson (Look for the Atomium and Washington Monument modules) as well as our new river boulevard. {{gallery>http://bit.ly/2anF00d}} {{tag>:layouts:layout}}
